The Walnut Creek Senior Club Trivia Fanatics are holding their next trivia session via ZOOM on Wednesday  September 23, 2020 at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. It’s open to all seniors, but space is limited.  If you are interested, please contact Bob Mohler at bobmohler82@gmail.com. You will receive an email invitation with a link to the ZOOM session a day or so prior to the Trivia session.

Get the Dirt on Growing Seeds

Practical tips (with photos) on planting seeds indoors during the fall and winter so that you will have plants to go in your garden in the early Spring. This talk  covers, planting seeds, tending them and transplanting seedlings. This talk with slide show is for all gardeners: people who have tried growing seeds but it did not work out; people who want to grow seeds but do not know where to start; and experienced seed growers who would like to share their experience with others during the discussion. Groceries Available for Low Income Seniors

Through generous community support, in partnership with the City of Walnut Creek Arts + Recreation Department, Hillside Covenant in Walnut Creek is sponsoring a Families Feeding Families Program.

Hillside Covenant Church is providing groceries for anyone who needs them.  No questions asked.

If you are a senior in need and would like to have groceries delivered directly to your home at no cost to you through the generosity of community volunteers, please fill out the Neighbor Express Form and indicate “Free food pantry essential groceries by Hillside for low-income seniors” when asked what service you need. Please note: these are prepackaged groceries that include some staple pantry items, vegetables, fruit, milk, eggs and butter. Customization or substitution is not available. Please note there is only a limited amount of groceries available each week.

Delivery will be on Wednesday early afternoon between 2:30-5:00pm..
You must request a grocery delivery by the Monday at 1:00pm.
A city staff member will connect with you to confirm your delivery.

Families & Individuals in Need

If you know of a family that is in need and not a senior, groceries are available for pickup at Hillside Covenant on Wednesdays from 2:00-4:00pm. No questions asked. Drive up and someone will safely place a contact-free grocery bag of essentials.

If you join the Board of the WC Seniors Club you will have a chance to help shape the future of events sponsored by the WC Seniors Club at the WC  Senior Center. The Walnut Creek Seniors Club is a non-profit organization that has had an association with the Walnut Creek Senior Center for many decades. The Seniors Club is run by volunteers and sponsors drop-in groups and events at the Senior Center. With the shutdown, the Seniors Club has begun to sponsors Zoom Events and Groups.
